Secure document sharing, on links you control.

Every link has its own rules

A link is more than a file. Each one carries its own access settings, so the copy a prospect sees can follow different rules from the one your board sees.

Choose who gets in

  • Open to anyone with the link, or ask for an email first
  • Require a verified email address, so nobody gets in with a made-up one
  • Limit it to verified addresses at one company, or to a list of people you name
  • Get an email when someone who isn't allowed tries to open it

Know it was read

Every view records the time spent on each page, so a secure link also tells you whether the document did its job, and which companies keep coming back to it.

Change your mind after you send

An email attachment is out of your hands the moment it leaves. A link isn't.

  • Allow downloads, or keep the document in the viewer
  • Set an expiry date when you create the link
  • Switch a link off and it stops working at once
  • Replace the file, and every link to it shows the new version
  • Share a whole folder under one set of rules
  • Send links from your own domain (Enterprise)

Common questions

What's the difference between asking for an email and verifying it?

Asking takes whatever address the reader types. Verifying emails them a link first, so only someone who can open that inbox gets in.

Can I stop people downloading my document?

Yes. With downloads off, the document stays in Sheepdoc's viewer and there is no download button. Anything shown on a screen can still be photographed, so who you let in remains the main control.

Can I take back access after I've shared a link?

Yes. Switch the link off and it stops working straight away, or give it an expiry date when you create it.

Can I share the same file with different rules?

Yes. Create as many links to a file as you need, each with its own access, download and expiry settings.

Can links use our own domain?

Yes, on the Enterprise plan.
